The September Salaya

Do not stay here staff is very rude. My wife did her hair in the room and when we took are towels down for exchange out of the blue the manager said " THERE BETTER NOT BE HAIR ALL OVER THE TOWELS.. FIRST how did the nosey woman even know my wife did her hair. Second my wife was one of the best hair stylist in the USA, THIS IS THE LAST TIME... There is a new beautiful place next door that when open, we will stay there. EVEN IN THE LAST FEW MONTHS THE ROOM AND FACILITIES HAVE BECOME LOW CLASS. DIRTY POOL, ROOMS, AND HORRIBLE STAFF. TO THE OWNER. I ALSO OWN BUILDINGS AND HOUSES AND IF ONE OF MY EMPLOYEES ACTED LIKE THIS TO A GUEST, TO OUR FRIENDS I WOULD FIRE THEM ON THE SPOT BECAUSE WE AS INVESTOR'S CANT AFFORD TO LOOSE MONEY OVER SOMETHING THAT CAUSES REVIEWS LIKE THIS.. Very good quality and excellent value. A really good find from Agoda, easy to find, easy 30 minute drive to the Tattoo Temple which we were visiting. The hotel offers good comfortable accommodation, good shower, and a small balcony, so if you have to smoke, then it is easy to do there. Right opposite the entrance there are many Thai style food outlets, all under cover, with a 7/11 right outside too.

I like the location of The September Salaya, in this small town, and it’s pretty close to Bangkok but buses will take you an hour or more with traffic to get to Khaosan Road or the Victory Monument locations. Bus cost 20-25 THB. The distance is about 20-25 kilometers depending on where exactly you’re going around those two locations. Traffic is usually busy to awful range. It’s close to Mahidol University if you’re going to be a student there. And they have a free shuttle bus to and from the university. But you can easily walk since it’s less than 1 kilometer. The rooms are a great size for the price. 8000 THB per month for the one I’m in. Free cleaning twice a month and they do a pretty good job. There are 2 buildings, A & B, with a rooftop pool and small gym in the A building. Covered parking under the B building which is only 20 meters from A. Each room has a private balcony. Not huge but big enough to sit on it hang your laundry easily. Plus the balconies are nit end to end, you have no neighbors next to you looking in your room. The place, as far as I can tell, is usually very quiet and clean. Right across the street is a large food court with many choices and great prices. I haven’t paid more than 45 THB for a very good meal there yet. Attached to the building is a 7/11 convenience store which is helpful when you need something at odd hours or it’s raining heavily. The A building has a restaurant, The Sep Cafe, right at the main entrance and it’s covered so again no problem if it’s raining. They also have room service for those who can’t make themselves move when they’re hungry. Next to that is a pool room, The Sep Play, where you can have a game of pool with friends. Right next to the lobby entrance is a laundry where, if you don’t want to use the machines yourself, they will clean your things for you. On this stretch of road of about 600 meters there are many, many inexpensive restaurants, carts and cafes to eat in. Food and fruit stands are there, taxi stands, motorcycle and cars, are 50 - 100 meters away from the September Salaya. If you’re going to use either service I would suggest you use the Grab taxi app because it’s pretty reliable and they deal with set prices not negotiations like you often have to do with taxi drivers who want to start every trip by saying “200 Baht!” No matter where you’re going. The truth is a taxi ride the 20 kilometers to Khaosan Road will cost more than 200 THB even with grab but the price is set and won’t change even if the taxi driver decides to drive all over the city or try to drive slower. I think that’s awesome. It means they will expedite your trip to wherever you’re going. The entrance to the main road through town is a couple hundred meters away and is loaded with shops of all kinds but the traffic there is usually pretty heavy. Still, you cannot hear it at The September Salaya. There are a multitude of eateries, massage shops, cafes, pet stores, beauty salons, copy stores, sport shops, local clinics for health, dentistry and beauty along that part of the road. Makro Mart is within a 15 minute walk, 24 hour Foodland is about 4 kilometers from here, the local Chinatown is 1 kilometer away, the bigger shopping mall, Central, is around 6 kilometers. There is, of course, a local bar area 200 meters away where you can enjoy a few rounds with your friends outside and even listen to live music but it hasn’t been loud since I’ve been here these past two months. I have never heard the noise so it’s a pretty chill place.

Large and spacious room. I had a short stay here. Got a suite room which has a living room and two bedrooms inside. Two air cons and tvs are given. Air con were cool and worked flawlessly. Tvs were the only problem. The display was not sharp, indeed blurry. The security is good. Using keycard to access in any floors and rooms. There is a small fitness room and a swimming pool on the top floor of the front building. The fitness room is quite hot during afternoon. The pool is nice at outdoor area, but water is rather dirty. Overall satisfied.
